Professional Care You Can Trust

Welcome to Blueberry Hill Care

The story behind the name

I have lived in Hertfordshire all my life and for me Blueberry Hill Care started with a song in my Nans kitchen. As a child, myself, my cousins and our Nan would sing the song Blueberry Hill together. Growing up, my Nan was a big part of my life. She was most proud of her role as a carer and introduced me to care in 1995. My Nan passed away in her own home in 2016 at a grand age of 92, and when I think of my Nan, I think of the song Blueberry Hill and this line:

"Though we're apart you're part of me still"

I found my thrill
On Blueberry Hill
On Blueberry Hill
When I found you

The moon stood still
On Blueberry Hill
And lingered until
My dream came true

Coronovirus Update

When Covid-19 first hit the news at the start of the year it was unimaginable to think that half a year later our lives would have changed so much in a short space of time.

Here at Blueberry Hill Care, as a management team we all agreed very early on that PPE was going to be key to us continuing to support both our customers and our carers in these strange times.

We are very pleased with the quick and efficient response taken by our staff in these early days, ensuring that the best PPE was researched and purchased as soon as possible. We initially stocked up on 12 weeks worth of PPE, foregoing initial government pay-out and purchasing our own equipment instead.

We agreed that only three members of staff per customer would be the best line of care, in order to keep cross-contamination at a minimum. It is a credit to our staff that they have adapted so well to all of the changes - sticking to all governmental guidelines, and being mindful of their customers by avoiding socializing and keeping visits out to the bare minimum.

Whilst there seems to be a long road ahead to fully eradicate Covid-19 from the UK population, we at Blueberry Hill remain enthusiastic and confident in our services, dedicated to the health, safety and emotional wellbeing of our customers, and will continue to learn and adapt to any new changes as they come. Thank you to everyone who has offered their support to us during this time, we are incredibly grateful!
